KABERI SEN
A dancer with immense potential bagged first prizes at all most all the state level competitions. She takes classes at Children's Little Theatre. Her dance and interviews have been telecasted by the local T.V. Channels. She has received National scholarship from Ministry of Culture, Govt. of India, New Delhi. Kaberi has performed solo at Guru Pankaj Charan Das Festival at Bhubaneswar, Jhankar Music Circle's Annual Festival, Padatik Dance Centre and Udayashankar Dance Festival. A favorite disciple of Aloka Kanungo, Kaberi has also applauded by both the press & public for her memorable performances at U.S.A & France. She has also assisted her guru in direction & choreography, presently on quest for newer applications of Odissi dance through a fusion work with Kathak. Kaberi has choreographed many dance ensembles for children and recently worked with the mentally & physically challenged children in KAUTUK- a children soiree.
Kaberi has a bewitching stage presence and eloquent eyes. Her forte lies in the beauty in which she conducts the abhinayas. A dedicated performer and a student of dance in Rabindra Bharati University, Kaberi is a promising young artiste.
SHREELINA GHOSH
A versatile and intelligent dancer, Shreelina has topped at many state-level dance competitions and has performed solo and with her guru at Khajuraho Festival, Puri Beach Festival; Uday Shankar Dance Festival, Calcutta; Surya Festival,Kerala; Thalam, ayadeva Jayanti Utsav and at the All India Women's Conference Annual Meet, Founder's Day celebrations of Mahabodhi Society of India at Bodh Gaya. She has performed in Texas and Michigan at various programs and conferences. She has also featured in the national and local television a number of times.
Shreelina's first indigenous solo production Panamami Buddham is a unique attempt in Odissi Dance, where the aim is to bring about a marriage between the soul and the Divine through Art, transcending all the manmade differences of caste, religion and nationality. Odissi moves beyond the traditional use of Oriya and Sanskrit and attempts to imbibe in it, the sheer spirit of Buddhist Philosophy through the extensive use of Pali shlokas. She is currently pursuing doctoral studies in Michigan State University.
ARPITA VENKATESH
Initially trained under Guruji Sri Muralidhar Majhi, Arpita has been under the guidance of Smt. Kanungo for the last six years. She has performed with the Shinjan troupe at Nisahgandhi Festival, Sooray Festival, Suralaya, Thaalam Festival in Kerala, Shankardev Festival at Assam, Impresario, India at Delhi & other programmes at Jharkhand, Pune, Orissa & Kolkata. Apart from assisting Smt. Kanungo in teaching Arpita teaches at her own Institution Malashree. She has also worked with Manipuri Pung Players & has the opportunity to interact with Ms. Kalavati Devi.
She has also choreographed many dance ensembles. Note worthy among them are Panchabhut & Triveni-, which encompass three classical dances of India. She is also adept in folk dances of India. An intelligent dancer, secured third position in the Master degree examination of Rabindra Bharati University; she is currently doing research on Karanas under a junior fellowship from Dept. of Culture New Delhi.
She is blessed with a tall lissome figure, expressive eyes & an attractive stage presence. A devoted girl, with strong determination to excel whatever she undertakes is the best quality in her
SUPRADIPTA DATTA
Supradipta Datta is an outstanding dancer with a natural flair for choreography. Supradipta is one of the first disciples of the renowned Odissi exponent Guru Smt. Aloka Kanungo. Supradipta has received Sangeet Kriya Visharad diploma (with top honors) in both the dance forms Odissi and Bharatnatyam. She also received top awards both from the Paschim Banga Rajya Sangeet Academy and the Nehru Talent Search Contest.
She has performed with her Guru all over India including the Puri Beach Festival, Konarak Dance Festival, Viswa Hindu Sammelan (Barodhara), Vishnupur Dance and Music Festival, Srirampore Music Conference, Uday Shankar Festival, Akhil Bharatiya Mahila Sammelan (Delhi). She assisted her Guru in direction and choreography .
Her first introduction to the western world as a dancer came through her Odissi performance which was featured by the British Broadcasting Corporation (BBC) in their documentary on Indian culture. At present, she is actively involved in teaching and organizing workshops on Odissi. In 2000, she was invited to perform at the first World Odissi Conference held in Washinton D.C, where she shared the stage with such renowned dancers like Sonal Man Singh and Madhvi Mudgal. In 2003, Late Guru Kelucharan Mohapatra inaugurated her foundation Kalaangan, an institute for the promotion of Odissi.
NIVEDITA DAW
A National Scholarship holder from The Ministry of Culture,New Delhi Nivedita Daw is a young, talented and a upcoming dancer.A senior student of Smt. Aloka Kanungo,Nivedita has made her guru proud at many occassions.She has bagged the 2nd Prize from West Bengal State Music Academy,Certificate of Merit from Sri Aurobindo Bhaban, Kolkata,1st Prize from Malasree.She has also topped in many school and inter school competitions. Nivedita has performed at many prestigious places with her guru. The worth mentioning of them are the Khajuraho Dance Festival,Kalashetra,Chennai, Ekamra Utsav-Mukteswar Dance festival, Aurobindo Ashram, Pondicherry, Bhubaneswar Music Circle,Padatik Little Theatre,Orissa Festival, Choreography Festival, Uday Shankar Dance Festival,Kolkata Doordarshan,National Library,Kolkata and many more.
Nivedita has got the golden opportunity to learn under the guidance of Lt.Padmabibhusan Guru Kelucharan Mohapatra.She has also been trained under the able guidance of Smt.Sujata Mohapatra.
A Diploma holder from Pracheen Kala Kendra,Chandigarh Nivedita is a rare combination of a versatile dancer and scholar.
